Music Director and Founder Kevin Fitzgerald conducts the ÆPEX Ensemble in our Festival Showcase! Program includes works by Tyson Davis, Augusta Read Thomas, and the world premiere of Garrett Schumann's "This Could Be Madness" a concerto for percussion featuring Cameron Leach.

Part of the Alabama Symphony's Centennial Celebration, Kevin takes to the stage at Birmingham's Railroad Park for a classic program featuring Beethoven's Consecration of the House Overture op. 124, Mendelssohn's incidental music to "Midsummer Night's Dream", and Sibelius' Third Symphony.

Kevin serves as Assistant Conductor for Maestra Xian Zhang in a program of Qigang Chen, Nielsen, and Tchaikovsky.

Kevin leads the world premiere of up-and-coming composer Daniel Zlatkin's new chamber opera "Hilma." Inspired by the life of artist Hilma af Klint and her explorations into the occult. Title role played by mezzo-soprano Emily Jaworski

Kevin leads the Alabama Symphony Orchestra on this All-Prokofiev program, featuring rising stars of the piano world, Dina Kasman and Mira Walker.

Kevin leads the North Carolina Symphony in an interactive program for school children, including works by Beethoven, Jessie Montgomery, Mozart, Scott Joplin, Anthony Kelley, and more! Join us in the orchestra's home venue, Meymandi Concert Hall at Duke Performing Arts Center!

Serving as cover conductor for the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and assisting Music Director Robert Moody. Program to include Beethoven's Symphony No, 9, op. 125 and Michael Markowski's "Joyride"

Jakub Hrůša leads the New York Philharmonic in a program of Kodály's Concerto for Orchestra Liszt's Piano Concerto no. 1 in E flat major, and Martinů's Symphony no. 1. Yuja Wang is the soloist. Kevin Fitzgerald is the cover conductor for this program.

Kevin Fitzgerald leads the Alabama Symphony Youth Orchestra in their first in-person performance since the pandemic began. Program includes Carlos Simon's "The Block", Bizet's Carmen Suite No. 1, and Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in e minor, "To The New World."

Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra performs works by Nabors, Smetana, Vaughan-Williams, and Dvořák with TMC Conducting Fellows Kevin Fitzgerald and Adam Hickox sharing the podium with TMC Faculty Stefan Asbury. Fitzgerald conducts Nabors' "Ilubio" and Smetana's "The High Castle" from "Má vlast."
